Webinar 8 - Webinar on 'Blockchain Technology' successfully concluded
The Digi-Tour-Skills webinar on “Blockchain Technology: Unlocking Trust & Innovation in Tourism”, held on 22 October 2025, was successfully completed. During this 60-minute session, adult learners, small and medium-sized tourism business owners, students, and professionals from other sectors explored how blockchain technology can enhance trust, transparency, and collaboration in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Led by Dr. Dimitrios K. Tsolis, Head of IT Unit at Rezos Brands SA, and Ilias Monastiriotis, computer engineer at Rezos Brands, participants gained practical insights into how blockchain works, different types of networks (public vs private/permissioned), transactions, wallets, and smart contracts, as well as practical, non-crypto applications such as loyalty programs, verifiable tickets, trusted reviews, and supply-chain provenance.
The webinar combined clear explanations with beginner-friendly demonstrations, equipping attendees with a Blockchain Beginner’s Checklist to evaluate and plan small, safe pilot projects. This initiative contributes to the digital upskilling of adult learners and professionals across Europe, supporting the broader objectives of the Digi-Tour-Skills Erasmus+ project.
